On Wednesday Nights, students meet downstairs in the youth room starting at 5:30 PM for a time of fellowship. Students can choose from many different activities from visiting the snack shack, to playing basketball, air hockey, ping pong, or video games. This is a great time for students to build relationships with other students in the ministry and to bring some new friends to introduce to their youth group!
At 6:30PM, students head upstairs to the youth worship center to worship with our student-led band and to hear a message from one of our youth pastors, Christian Kemp or Christian "Cheeto" James. Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, our student ministry walked through lesson series', such as "The Kingdom Revealed," a verse-by-verse walkthrough of Matthew 1-7, "Not by Works," an in-depth study of the book of Galatians, and "Parents Just Don't Understand," a series dedicated to looking at the Biblical model for student-parent relationships. To close out the year and make way for the summer, we walked through a series of lessons entitled FAQ: Tackling Relevant Topics, where for a series of five weeks, we invited individuals who are credible sources of information on specific topics to join us in conversing about relevant topics to middle school and high school students today. All of the questions addressed were submitted by our students. We talked about World Religions, Mental Health, Godly Friendships, and Dating, as well as many other questions that our students submitted. For each of these topics, we sought to answer this question: What does the Bible say about this topic? Check out some of our MDWK lessons by clicking below!
