Inherent in the opening remarks relating to our purpose, is that you and everyone else, have experienced peace with God and have received eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. If you don’t know what it means to have peace with God and to know for sure that you have eternal life through Christ Jesus . . . consider the following:
God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. His plan is for peace and eternal/everlasting life with Him. In the Bible in Romans 5:1, it says, “. . . we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” And in John 3:16, we are told, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Knowing that it is God’s plan for us to have peace with Him and to have eternal life, why are so many people not enjoying this experience? We have a problem and our problem is: sin and separation. God made us to have a free will and with that we can choose to obey God or to disobey God and go our own selfish way. In the Bible, it says in Romans 3:23 that we are all sinners. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” The Bible also says that the penalty for sin is death (spiritual death and separation from God). In Romans 6:23, we are told, ” . . . the wages of sin is death.”
God provided a remedy: the cross. The Bible says in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” In Acts 4:12, it says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
God provided the only way, but we must make the choice to receive Christ. We can receive Jesus Christ when we believe in His message and trust in Him alone to save us. The Bible says in John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” Also, in Revelation 3:20, it says, “Behold, I stand at the door (the door to your heart) and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup (fellowship) with him, and he with me.”

HOW TO RECEIVE CHRIST AS SAVIOR
HOW TO RECEIVE CHRIST AS SAVIOR:
“Heavenly Father, I have sinned against you, I want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I give you my life to do with as you wish. Jesus, I invite you into my heart to be my Savior and the Lord of my life. This I ask in Jesus name. Thank you, Jesus, for coming into my heart and my life. Amen.”
Now the evil one will want to confuse you by telling you that you did not mean it when you invited Jesus into your heart, or that you can’t be sure that God meant what He promised. You can be sure, according to the word of God, His assurances are true. If you sincerely prayed the foregoing prayer, the Bible says in Romans 10:13, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
In Romans 5:1, it says, “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord.” In 1 John 5:12-13, it says, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; That ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
- Admit that you are a sinner.
- Agree that you want forgiveness for your sin.
- Believe Jesus died on the cross and rose again for you.
- Be willing to surrender your life to Christ.
- Pray to invite Jesus into your life and into your heart.
